Taewook Kim is now an Assistant Professor in the Department Energy Chemical Engineering at Kyungpook National University (KNU), Republic of Korea. He received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) in Feb. 2017, followed by Postdoctoral Research at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), memory-device process development at Samsung Electronics' Semiconductor R&D Center, and process innovation for particulate-matter control and ceramic additive manufacturing at Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH).
His research targets three interconnected domains: energy materials (high‑performance electrodes and membranes for batteries, micro‑supercapacitors, and fuel cells), catalytic technologies (environmental and energy catalysts based on earth‑abundant metals), and 3D‑printing materials (printable ceramic and metallic feedstocks for advanced additive manufacturing). Leveraging MXenes, laser‑induced graphene, electrospun polymer composites, functional metal oxides, and flash‑lamp/laser processing, his group seeks scalable solutions for clean energy conversion, environmental remediation, and sustainable manufacturing.
